Compliments of the Season January! Just when I popped by you decided to be away on vacation. Hope you have a lovely time. My hubby and I will be visiting Dubai for our honeymoon… I was wondering if there were any ‘must visit’ places you could tip us on… Anyway… Happy New Year in advance. May it be better than the previous years. Cheers! 😀

Hello Bubbles, thanks for the sugestion but Tinapa will have to wait for some other time. I don’t know when you intend to travel, but I can tell you that January and February are the best time to travel due to the favourable weather which is a bit chilly. You’ll need a jacket during this period.

The exchange rate for the Dirham is 3.67:$1. For accomodation, you can tell your travel agent to book an hotel for you in Deira (it’s more affordable) or
if you can spare $140 per night, you can stay at the Dolphin Hotel Apartments in Bur dubai (it’s located in the Central business district and more quiet). you will not be charged for the last night you’ll be staying and most hotels offer free transport services to the airport when you’re leaving.

For local Nigerian delicacy, take a cab to deira and tell the driver that you’re going to Al-hili Hotel on Sabaka road. there’s a nigerian restaurant on the first floor.
Before I forget, schedule your travel towards January ending (as from 24th), there’s an annual Shopping festival around that period (last for a month) and you can get incredible discount on designer items. Bear in mind that this country is duty free zone so you’ll get designer items at an incredible price.

Must Visit places: Sheikh Palace which has now been transformed to a museum, Boat cruise on the Deira Creek, Deira Gold Souk, you also need to visit the desert. Most hotels in Dubai have a tour desk where you can book for all these activities and more. It’s a safe place to visit as it is crime free. So you can stay out till 2a.m. there’s no one to harass you.

I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time. LEt me know if you still need some information regarding dubai.
