Adaeze, I usually advise candidates wishing to apply for this kind of programme to send their applications via physical mail i.e. through the post office or courier whichever is preferable. You must bear in mind that free email accounts such as Yahoo, Hotmail and other have limited space capacity and once it’s full due to the large number of applications these organization must have received since the advert came out. I’ll advise you conduct a google search for the organisation and try to see if they have another email account that you can send your applications to. All the very best in your chosen career.

    • January says:

Dear Emmanuel, please note that I am not the one in charge of this programme. Netiher do I work for the organization. I came across the advert in one of the daily newspaper and decided to use my blog as a means of reaching out to youths who might not have access to newspaper. You can only pray and cross your fingers while you await a response from the organisation. I wish you all the very best in your future career aspirations.

  7. Enoch Bonsu says:

Hello every body, Please want to know this very important programme is starting and those selected for 2010-2011.Please i want someone from WAHO to answer me. It is the best programme for African youth.

    • Jan says:

Hello Enoch, this years application is out and it will be closing by August 27 2010. Do send in your application through the above stated address following the laid out guidelines. Wish you all the very best.

    • Jan says:

      Hello Funmi,

I won’t be able to help you on this. Please note that this was an advert placed in the dailies. Your best bet is to get in touch with the organization itself. Hope this answers your question.

  8. Udofia Ukpong says:

i saw d advert in guardian news paper in Nigeria and it will be expiring on the 27th of August 2010. i have sent my application tru d internet, but i dont have my passport now. what do i do to the situation at hand?

    • Jan says:

      Hello Udofia,
If this years application is out already, all you can do is wait for a response from the organization. I’m a bit unclear about the passport angle. However, if the requirement states that you must attach a passport photograph, i’d advise you snap a digital passport, scan, attach and send with your application.

      • Jan says:

        Hello Udofia,

Please note that one cardinal requirement of this programme is the possession of an international passport. Obtaining one is your sole responsibility before the application deadline.

  9. jayomok says:

my anuty sent me a message to apply but i want 2 ask if u no how candidates are finally selected or the internship

    • Jan says:

I do not know the procedure for selection but i guess, the very best applications will come tops. Applying for international internships is no child’s play. Your expresion of interest must clearly indicate what you’re bringing to the table and what kind of skills and knowledge you hope to acquire.

  10. Udeme Augustine says:

Hello WAHO, I sent my application for 2011 internship programme through your mail but I have not receive any feedback as to whether the application has reached your desk or not, please how can i be rest assured that my application is there.I don’t want to miss this once in a life time programme which is coming at the right time for African youth. Long live WAHO, Long live ECOWAS, Long Live West Africa.

    • Jan says:

      Hello Udeme,

I’ll like to ask which email address did you send your application to? Please note that this blog is not related to WAHO. I posted this info on my blog so most interested youths can apply. All the very best.

    • Jan says:

Cynthia, please take time out to read this post once more. You’ll observe that there’s a physical address apart from email, with which you can send your applications to. I would advise you send all necessary documents via EMS Speedpost before the closing date. All the very best.

  11. Ogunniyi Grace says:

Good day sir, with respect to your advert 22 June Guardian Newspaper page 30,I’ve been trying to send you an E -mail since on Tuesday.I’ll like to ask if I can apply for the this wonderful programme to contribute my token the development of West Africa.I have OND result in Environmental Health and I don’t want to miss this programme .I’m working with an NGO, that is into water and sanitation.Your urgent respond will save a lot of souls from health problems.Extend my regards to everybody.Thanks.

    • Jan says:

For the umpteenth time, this blog is not affiliated in any way to WAHO. It was an opportunity I thought interested applicants would find useful. I can understand that we’re disenfranchised with our situations. However, for applicants who do not have the requisite qualifications, do not apply for this programme as a last resort. There are other creative outlets for achieving your desired goals. Grace, please note that this programme is meant for graduates i.e. B.Sc and H.N.D holders. Do take proper time to read and assimilate the post once more. Otherwise, if you’ve ever been interested in photography, you can apply for the Travel Photography Scholarship -Kingdom of Bhutan. At every point in time in life, ask yourself repeatedly “What do I want out of life?” or “What do I really want to pursue in life?” and try to listen to what your intuition tells you i.e. that quiet still voice inside your soul…you can never go wrong if you listen to it. Wish you all the very best.

  12. Kayode says:

Would u suggest that this programme worth abandoning a master degree programme one has just started? Ur candid opinion will be appreciated

    • Jan says:

      Hello Kayode,

Let me start by asking you “Are you sure you want to do this?” Do bear in mind that most internship programmes run within 3-6months. Why you’d want to abandon a master’s programme for an internship you’re yet to secure is beyond me.

Are you pursuing this internship for deep rooted reasons or just on a whim? What about the funds you’ve committed to this programme(M.Sc)?

I’d suggest you pursue your master’s programme or think about it deeply before making your final decision. Wish you all the best in your career.

Hi Ugwunwa, please note that applications are accepted from every ECOWAS member state. Also bear in mind that free email accounts such as Yahoo have a limited space and the data being submitted by all applicants might not accept all applications. So, i’ll advise you send in your applications via the physical address provided in the post.

Wish you all the very best.

  13. Dare says:

Hi, do you think it is very necessary to have an intl passport. Because I think the requirement stated it clearly that is either u have an intl passport, national ID or a birth cert. Please clarify this for me.

  14. ella says:

i actually applied and also applied for my cousin, she has been sent a message stating that her application was received but i am yet to receive any message. could it be that mine was not received.

    • Jan says:

Hello Ella, why don’t you wait a bit to receive a message from the organisation. Bear in mind that there are several applications received from ECOWAS member states. So, be a bit patient and wish you all the best.
